Guest Post: What “Sunday Morning Love,” means to Bobbie La Day, lyricist, singer and co-writer of the song produced at The Noise Room
Sunday mornings have always been my favorite time of the week. I always thought of it as “lovers day…” like a weekly Valentine’s Day.
It’s the day spent sleeping in, going to church, making brunch, hiking or thrifting, spending time with family or pets… it’s the ultimate day to recharge and remind ourselves why we work so hard.
When the chords were first played on the mellotron, it was so buttery rich, it wasn’t hard to identify the feeling it gave me especially in the studio where shoes are taken off before entry just like at my own home and I immediately seek Lila, the sweetest studio kitten ever.
It was easy to just tap into what Sunday mornings mean to me since I felt at home at the studio. This song is so special to me because it celebrates all the things I love and every bit of ease and love on a Sunday morning. It strips away the need to perform and just allows me to be.
How do you celebrate Sunday?
